Name: Fluttershy
Canon: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
OU/AU/OC: SN
Canon Point: Post-S3
History: The Element of Kindness.
Some time after the cutie mark incident is fixed and Twilight became a princess, offworlder ponies began appearing. Fluttershy gained quite a few new friends, got to eventually deal with two 'doubles' of hers appearing within the land, and even briefly dated somepony by the name of Bertie, starting during the first Gala since the offworlders appeared. Despite some setbacks and a frightening occurrence with the appearance of a statue, she was okay and stayed with her friends.
Over the next few months, she ended up breaking up with Bertie and then when Nightmare Night came about, she stayed in her cottage. Suddenly Nightmare Moon appeared, and she went with the others of the Mane Six to attempt to stop her. 4G!Dash ends up doing so, though.
She stayed out of many of the future events, continuing to do her usual duties and letting other ponies adopt animals when they were able to. However, soon Cloudsdale opened up for exploring, she went with her friends within the Mane Six to check it out. And of course, as with every year, she helped out with the other Fluttershys for Winter Wrap-Up.
A few months later, intending to make an announcement about letting others adopt some kittens she had been caring for in the cottage, Fluttershy inexplicably burst into rainbows, leaving Ponyville shocked and sad.
It would be 10 more months before, suddenly, the yellow pegasus would then re-appear inside of her cottage, unfortunately forgetting everything that happened following the sudden appearance of the first offworlders...
Personality:
Just by her name, Fluttershy, one would assume that she is, in fact, shy. And this fact couldn't be any truer! She is very shy and timid, speaks in a rather soft voice, and tries her hardest to be gentle in both her speech and actions. She's also fairly careful, sometimes too careful, to the point where she ends up slipping and apologizing over little things that chain together. Even when she was running away from the rest of the Mane Six when they were going to visit big dragons, she almost jumped out her own window before stopping, opening the window slowly first, and then dashing out of it. Fluttershy is very timid in regards to meeting new ponies, especially energetic or hyperactive ones, but once she's talked to them a few times, she warms up to them and is less nervous around them. Past that, she is actually very friendly and will oftentimes try to do things for her friends, to help them or make them happy when she can. Of course, this also tends to make her feel guilty when she can't do something, or something happens that's out of her control. She also has an issue with trying to make more than one of her friends happy at the same time when given a choice, attempting to opt for anything that would satisfy both friends. This almost never works out.
Fluttershy has a large love for animals and little creatures of all sizes, and even baby dragons (but not large dragons!). She takes care of a lot of animals at her cottage, and always finds room for more whenever she finds more outside. She also tends to drop everything when it comes to caring for sick or injured animals, becoming something of a motherly figure for them. She's so protective of them, that it's become a bit of a berserk button for her - if she thinks someone is going to harm her animals, or harm comes to any animals, she gets rather upset, sometimes even angry. Nobody comes between Fluttershy's little critters and Fluttershy if she thinks they're in danger. So it's best to not try to do anything dangerous with them. That might not end well even before the dangerous things begin. And even if she doesn't get angry, she'll be worrying and crying over them until they're back safe with her.
Fluttershy's anger isn't limited to her worry for her animals, either. Though she'll cower and take the brunt of things if someone is mean to her or bullies her, simply feelng guilty for whatever reason it's happening... if her friends are bullied or someone's mean to them, she'll get angry and said anger will push her to do things she normally wouldn't, such as finding strength she didn't know she had and pull a blimp to chase after Discord when she was told he was about to win. (THAT. BIG. DUMB. MEANIE! but he's not so mean now.) She even has something known as The Stare(tm), which she can use to get animals (and sometimes other ponies) to stop being mean or stop bullying others. It doesn't work all the time, and she doesn't like using it unless she absolutely has to.
Though she's attempted to be assertive and try to stand up for herself, as her friends and others have taught her to do, she's found it difficult. Either she's not assertive enough and gets walked all over like a doormat... or she's too assertive and becomes mean and brutal. Since the time she was too assertive, she's gotten somewhat better at standing up for herself, but it's a slow learning process. She's definitely fairly unwilling to do dangerous things on her own; she's much better off when doing things like that around her friends - but that doesn't mean she's not brave. It just means sometimes she needs a push (or a rather large push at times) to find her courage to go through with a plan, whether she made it or not. Regardless, she is very well aware of her shortcomings, and knows that her friends are there with her every step of the way to help her through them. And she's becoming a much stronger pony for it.
She has a rather large fear of heights, as well as a fear of dragons. The former is the reason why she prefers staying on the ground and not living in Cloudsdale with the rest of the pegasi. The latter tends to extend to any huge animal that's scary-looking, but dragons tend to be the most prominent fear for her creature-wise. Why can't they all stay cute baby dragons? Even full-grown dragons aren't safe from her Stare, however, if they bully her friends. Beware!
Fluttershy prefers to live alone ('alone' in the sense that she's the only pony in the cottage) because she prefers the solitude from time to time. As she was teased and humiliated as a filly, she feels she needs that solitude when something bad happens. It's caused her to develop a fear of humiliating herself, which explains why she's so careful a lot of the time.
And lastly, her guilt is a huge thing. She tends to soak up the burden from her friends at times, and feels guilty that she can't do anything to help. She prefers not to talk about it to others, and keeps the burden to herself. At times she can even feel guilty when she feels she's made someone else uncomfortable or unhappy, whether she's sure she has or not.
Which ties into how she's going to feel about herself having amnesia. When she learns that there were others that knew her and she doesn't remember them, she will feel extremely guilty that it may be awkward or uncomfortable for ponies that knew her that she didn't remember to talk to her as if she knew them. She'll also regress a little in terms of her shyness and assertiveness that she had before she was rainbow'd out, but eventually she'll be back to her old self and will try her best. She'll be happy she's back home, at least.
